ABOUT THIS BOOK:
Desserts don’t need to be high in fat or packed with refined sugars to be delicious. You can make healthier homemade desserts that actually add nutrients to your diet. The recipes in this book highlight fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and of course, flavonoid-rich chocolate!
As a naturopathic doctor and mom of three, I’m naturally passionate about nutrition. We cook the majority of our meals at home and do our best to follow a “mostly” whole food, plant-based diet. So, you may be surprised to learn that our family loves dessert!
In this cookbook, I share some of my favorite whole food, mostly plant-based dessert recipes. While desserts are not calorie-free, they can be wholesome and include real food and nutrient dense ingredients that can be enjoyed in moderation.
In my practice, so many patients have multiple food restrictions, so I created this dessert book with simple recipes that are gluten-free, can be prepared dairy-free, vegan, and even free of refined sugars. The majority of recipes in this book can be modified with easy substitutions to accommodate most dietary restrictions, food allergies, or sensitivities. Enjoy!
